Rhinoplasty Surgery :
Commonly known as a nose job, is a plastic surgery procedure for correcting and reconstructing the form, restoring the functions, and aesthetically enhancingthe nose byresolvingnasal trauma(blunt, penetrating, blast), congenital defect, respiratory impediment, or a failed primary rhinoplasty. Most patients ask to remove a bump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, as well as correct injuries, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing, such as deviated nasal septum or a sinus condition. Changing the size and shape of a nose can alter the appearance of a face quite positively. Important concepts in rhinoplasty surgery include thorough anatomic analysis preoperatively, functional assessment, and a defined, individualized, and inclusive treatment plan. These steps are required for optimal results. We perform a comprehensive preoperative facial analysis to understand your underlying nasal and facial anatomy, its balance, and how they need to be shaped to achieve your desired result. At the same time, the functional pre operative assessment of your nasal airway and its preservation during surgery is important. Having a beautiful looking nose, that you have difficulties breathing through, is not a great help to you. Most of our rhinoplasty procedures can be performed safely in an ambulatory setting. Depending on your general health, length and type of the procedure and your personal comfort an overnight stay in the hospital might be necessary. We happy to provide you with further information about the procedure and answer your questions during your consultation in my office.
Oculoplastic Surgery :
Includes a wide variety of surgical procedures that deal with the orbit (eye socket), eyelids, tear ducts, and the face. It also deals with the reconstruction of the eye and associated structures is a specialized field in plastic surgery, that is focused on the periorbital region, this means the eyelids, eyebrows, orbit (eye socket), and adjacent areas like the forehead and cheeks. Oculoplastic surgery involves reconstructive measures after trauma, cancer surgery as well as aesthetic surgery. The periorbital region is very sensitive to small discrepancies in normal form. These changes can readily be perceived by others, therefore precise technical detail and appropriate treatment plans are required. Minimal changes in eyelid and eyebrow position and shape may influence the perception you have of yourself and others have of you. This is easy to understand, as the eyes and the area around it, are so important in displaying emotions and perceptions. The eye region, unfortunately starts to show its age as early as the mid to late 30’s. The most common complaint of patients seeking rejuvenitive eye surgery is they look “tired” even though they retain their normal inner energy. The patient often seeks to reestablish the balance between the more youthful “inner” self and the “outer” facial image they present to the public. Studying this topic, we found that variations in eyebrow contour, drooping of the upper eyelid and wrinkles may be conveying facial expressions that don’t necessarily match how patients are feeling.
Aesthetic Surgery of the Breast :
The surgery is frequently performed for aesthetic as well reconstructive reasons. Breast itself is a uniquely important part of the female body and as such embodies in itself anatomical, physiological and aesthetic role. A proportionately developed breast is an important feminine feature, a sign for fertility and sexuality. Aesthetic surgery for breast is not new and has been practiced for many years for reduction, enhancement and mastopexy. However, the introduction of implants by Cronin and Gerow in 1962, has given a new dimension to breast remodelling. Surgery for breast reduction, breast reconstruction, mastopexy and augmentation comprises the most common procedure performed today. Use of implant alone has increased exponentially in the second half of last century and breast augmentation for reshaping and remodelling alone has overtaken almost any other aesthetic procedure, including breast reduction, mastopexy and reconstruction. The safety of implants and choice of shape and volume has given a range of choices and predictability to patients for aesthetic and reconstructive reasons. A variety of procedures are available for patients with inadequate breast development, breast hypertrophy, developmentally ptotic breasts, involution secondary to pregnancy, weight or age related changes or to correct breast asymmetry. Breast implants either alone or in combination has given versatility and predictability for a desirable breast shape, volume or positioning. Small volumetric enhancement or asymmetries can be corrected using autologous fat grafting in selected cases. Advancement in imaging techniques has enable to provide better breast screening that can delineate suspicious breast lesions following use of breast implants or autologous fat grafting. The “most beautiful” or “ideal” breast shape for you is UNIQUE to you and your own tastes, body, and current, breast shape. It is important to put the plan for breast reshaping in context with your overall physiognomy (that is height, weight, abdomen and chest wall shape) in order to create the optimal body contour and image. The size, shape and position of the breast mound, and the relationship between the breast to the nipple-areola complex are important variables. The desirable breast size and shape, necessarily will be different from one individual to the next. No matter if a breast reduction, a breast augmentation, a breast lift is desired or a combination of the latter 2, there are different surgical techniques which address the differing surgical goals. Therefore it is essential to define your wishes and expectations preoperatively in order to recommend and perform the right surgical procedure for you.
Aesthetic breast surgery includes: :
- Breast augmentation (with different types of implants, approaches and incision lines / scars)
- Breast lift / mastopexy (scar sparing)
- Breast lift with auto augmentation
- Breast reduction (scar sparing)
- Nipple reduction
- Correction of inverted nipple
- Areola size reduction
- Correction of asymmetry (shape, size, height, relationship – breast/ nipple areola complex)
Most of my procedures can be performed safely in an ambulatory setting. Depending on your general health, length of the procedure and your personal comfort an overnight stay in the hospital might be best for you. We happy to provide you with further information about the procedure and answer your questions during your consultation in my office.
